Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains which cookies TopicWeek uses, in accordance with Article 22(2) of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE).

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about your visit. There are similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage.

Cookies we use

TopicWeek uses the following types of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary or functional cookies, set by TopicWeek itself, such as the language cookie.
  • Advertising cookies and similar technologies from Google AdSense, only when advertising is shown and according to your consent choices.
  • YouTube technologies, only when you choose to load an official video in an article; Google may then use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies.

Strictly necessary and functional cookies

Owner
TopicWeek (first party)
Purpose
Remember the language you have chosen manually in the language selector, so the website is shown in that language on your next visits.
Duration
1 year
Type
Technical, customisation

The cookie is only created when you choose a language in the selector and only contains the language code (for example, "en"). It contains no data that identifies you and is not used for any other purpose.

TopicWeek’s own code does not use other storage technologies in your browser, such as localStorage or sessionStorage.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

When advertising is shown, Google, as the provider of Google AdSense, and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as identifiers or local storage) on TopicWeek pages. TopicWeek does not set these technologies itself and does not have access to the information they contain.

Consent
Only with your consent

The specific cookies and technologies used, their names and their duration may vary depending on your consent, your region, the advertising settings and Google’s services, so we do not list them one by one. Google publishes information about the cookies used by its advertising products.

Google’s consent message also stores your choices in your browser so that it does not ask you again on every visit.

Third-party cookies

Besides the advertising technologies described above, official YouTube players may use third-party cookies or similar technologies after you activate an individual video. No YouTube player is requested before that action. TopicWeek does not use analytics or embedded social-media feeds.

How to delete or block cookies

Once Google’s consent message is active on the website, you will be able to reopen the privacy options at any time and change or withdraw your consent for advertising technologies using the controls provided by Google. You can also manage ad personalisation in My Ad Center.

You can delete the TW_LOCALE cookie or block cookies in your browser settings. If you delete it, the website will choose the language automatically again. These are the instructions for the most common browsers:

Changes to this policy

If we add new cookies or services, or change how we use the ones described here, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before using them.
